Music: the piano guys

Dearest readers,
I believe that music is something that noone should live without it defines us, explains us and moves us like nothing else can. the peice of music in this clip is extraudenary not just because it was performed by only two people with a multitude of sounds but because of the feeling it sends down my spine when i just listen to it. Today I am going to talk about The Piano Guys because they use music to their advantage to create peices that move people from laughter to tears, not all of you may enjoy this but some of you i hope will apreciate the work that has gone into creating this peice and the beauty of its finished product. thankyou and enjoy.

The spooky christmas/yule

Most darling readers of the dark and witchy inclinations,

This post is all about how to make you christmas or yule respectively dark and spooky (i know that christmas and yule are only a week away but still). first off the pinnacle of any winter celebration the tree. you can now get trees in all manner of shape and sizes and i would suggest either a black or dark red synthetic tree from a garden center or supermarket adorned with all the dark baubles and halloween tinsel you can get your hands on

yes indeed readers so deck out in purple fairy lights, dark tinsel and whatnot, put on tim burtons nightmare before christmas and snuggle up in those cold evenings with F.L.A.G playing in the background whilst reading miss Emilie Autumns book Asylum For Wayward Victorian Girls or Jillian Venters Gothic Charm School or any spooky novella that takes your fancy. as for everything else well is it really that difficult readers? Get out your tea and make spooky holiday cards using your craft stuff you have in a box somewhere, cook up spooky delights and sweet treats and most importantly have fun and enjoy the holiday.
blessed be!

Black days

dear readers,
today is one of those black days, you know the ones i mean, where you feel as though the black clothes reflect your mood perfectly when your on your own and yet noone gets it, i may call myself the 'gothic travelling witch' however i use the term 'gothic' a lot more loosely than many nowadays i like being happy cheerful and some days, and those of you 'purist' goths are gonna be shocked at this one, i wear a pink top with angel wings studded in crystals on the front and back and its not because im a girly girl or because im a label of any kind its because i feel like it.
today however i was glad to be wearing black i got home from college sat down on my sofa put scrubs on the tv and started writing the next chapter in my book. and then i wondered what am i going to do in my life? i dont have many friends especially n ot in this area, i dont know what i want to be when i grow up and whenever im asked i say who knows? but i do know one thing my life is firmly in the realms of the alternative cause i dont care about the latest fashions or what makeup or hairstyle is in like the other people i have met in secondry, sixth form and college im just happy being me with my weird varied tastes in music from folk to westend to industrial and dark wave etc i dont care that people look at me odd when i walk down the street with my headphones on wearing a t-shirt that says i <3 monsters where the heart is designed to look real or if some idiot yells 'freak' or 'goth' or whatever across the street because i look different to the hundreds of other girls in the town or in essex because it makes me who i am i express my self like a peacock cause lets face it thats what we all are. i dont allways wear makeup but when i do it's not generally big swirly black eyeliner even though sometimes i do wear it but its most definately not 3 inch thick foundation either i prefer to show who i am in the now rather than try to fit in with a label that someone else has made up the rules for. i will shop in any store i like and try to find something new or the same that i like and looks good on me (which is generally a lot of black but hey i like it) i like mixing things together to try and make myself unique by trying to be exactly who i want to be. this doesnt mean i know what career i want or whether i want to do anything specific its just how i look and how i feel comfortable looking.
when i say the word 'goth' i dont just mean people in black or victorian wear i mean the whole range of alternative subculture because thats what i classify it as cause thats what i see when i walk down the streets of whitby where my grandparents live during wgw i have allways been fascinated with these amazin g people who where not afraid to show who they are and to be as extravegent as they pleased even when they where just going to the green grocers or the newsagents. the clothes fascinated me and the different ways people put things together was inspiring. i class whitby as my second home as it is one of the only 3 places that have stayed constant the other two where my nans house near southend and my grandma and grandads first home in hornchurch. but every year almost we would go to whitby and spend time there i would look around the market and look in the window of the 'scary shop mummy doesnt want me to go in' and wish i was allowed to go in and buy some pretty black dress or bag or skull headband with cobwebs on it but i was never allowed to i was allways ushered past by someone and i allways remember looking back and wanting to ask if we could have a look but i never did. then came the time when i was allowed to wander around on my own i must have been about 13 14 at the time and i allways remember going into those shops for the first time and being awed by all the beautiful clothes and accessories every time i go now i allways buy at least one thing and my wardrobe slowely grows. i mean sure atm its mostely jeans and t-shirts but maybe one day i will be able to walk down the street in a full skirt, corsett, demonia boots and a neon top every day if i wanted too but first i have to find out what i wanna do to make sure im able to do that and see the many wonderful places around the world that i wannna see who knows maybe i'll see you there and you'll recognise me as 'that girl who writes the blog' but even if you dont its fine because everyone has something they will grow up to be most of us just dont know what they want that to be yet and thats ok

The Snow Child; Book Reveiw

Dearest readers of the dark, magical and wandering inclination,
i recently finished reading (for the third time) the wonderous book 'The Snow Child' by Eowyn Ivey. it was a truely moving tale that was realistic to life yet touched upon the realms of fantasy in many ways for it is an interpretation of an old russian folk tale about an elderly couple who one day build a snow girl and it comes to life, the ending is sad as most traditional faery tales are and no mater how the story is told the girl allways melts. Eowyn really captures the essence of this story in her book in great detail to which i found it an enthralling read if a little difficult at first. i would certainly recomend it as a good book to read on those long flights when there is nothing to do as it will fill the time most nicely as you relive the tale as it is told before you and experience the many different emotions of all the different characters as they attempt to live on the edge of the northern wilderness. a good debut book as any would see.
blessed be readers and i shall see you again next time x

EHIC

dear readers,
Unfortunately this is a bit of a boring one but I am writing this as partly a travel blog (I know I havent done much travelling yet but DW next year I have lots of travelling plans so it will be a busy year ^^....hopefully :/ ) so I thought it would be handy to some of you darklings out there to have some information about this, especially those of you in Europe and the UK.
Now most people in the UK will understand what I mean when I say EHIC but for those of you that dont it means European Health Insurence Card which is essential for when travelling in and around europe now I have just renewed mine for my college trip taking place in about April May time (we are going to Malaga in Spain) and it cost about £18 ish (£17.something lol) but if you want to be sure you get good healthcare if goddess forbid anything happened then this is the card for you. well thats all for now but i will hopefully be back soon with more dark witchy travel news of some sort or other.
blessed be and see you next time!

Cupcake anyone?

Dearest darklings,
i have been in a spot of baking mania so i thought i would share with you a creation i did a few years back that is sure to make even the blackest of hearts go aww and want to gobble them all up. i present to you spider cupcakes.

adorable yes? well they are incredibaly easy to make. simply mix up a batch of your favourite cupcakes i would suggest chocolate or red velvet but you could use anything really and then decorate using melted chocolate or chocolate icing (up to you) and get the licquorice pinwheels unwind cut into little strips and place on top for eyes and legs so extremely simple and probably not the best thing for this time of year but what the hell i think they are good any time of the year so get baking enjoy and have a good week people. i may not be posting for a little bit due to coursework but i will try my best to at every opetunity.

blessed be and see you next time my dears.
